This painting was completed in four three hour sessions from April 19th, 2012 to May 10th, 2012. It is of the Monday morning of the Cross of Victory Pilgrimage in August 2010. It is a water stop north of Caledon East.
The three men at the far left are wearing reflective orange safety vests and the man with his back to the camera has a reflective orange flag. These fluorescent orange and fluorescent green colours were painted with fluorescent yellow guache, but that colour does not reproduce, leaving the red alone. I guess that's why I can't find that paint anywhere anymore !
The portion of the photograph is original and not edited.
The flare is from looking toward the morning sun.
