"It's" NOT entirely subjective too!

Here is the first of hopefully many character head rotations based on the geometry of a sphere divided into twelve.  Here are twelve Hesus drawings in 12 of the 16 positions portrayed the second image of the previous post.
There are blatant errors, but I feel this drawing is an improvement due to the clarity of the calculated locations of the features determined by the position of the sphere. I find it far easier to maintain the character if I can place his features on a graphically calculated ellipse or centre line.

Hesus keeps looking like Hesus, at least.

NOT entirely subjective !!!

"It" is not entirely subjective as there are some mathematical and geometric truths I have discovered that govern the position of the ellipses and other lines that determine the positions of the facial and head features, that I have established ways of graphically calculating similar to the graphic calculations made in Perspective Projection drawings. These mathematical and geometric truths are far easier to discern in freehand line drawings than they would ever be in a drafting software tool, and are more practical, essential and efficient than any software calculation.

This, I would have thought, would have been taught in animation at Sheridan College, but in fact there was not any understanding of this at that school, to the best of my knowledge.  Evidence of this shortcoming is prominent in the animation of Belle in Beauty and the Beast, although that film was animated before I attended Sheridan College.

The first image is the solution to the problem posed by four of sixteen positions (32 positions if you count both front and back of the sphere) that are problematic due to not being forward or side positions, when the circle of the sphere is divided into 12 positions both horizontally (medians) and vertically (lines of latitude). From these 12 divisions one may extrapolate any further divisions, by thirds or halves.  Fifths are another problem, but can be subjectively assumed to be a leaning toward or away from divisions of these twelve, to not put too fine a point on it.

The second image is examples of those sixteen positions.

An assumption made in generating this solution is that the line between the ears remains level, but rotates around the vertical y axis.
The arrow points out of the nose from the inside of the head indicating the forward direction, the line with the circle on the end indicates a line projecting out the top of the head, and the right and left ear positions are indicated by the "R" and "L".

This solution took several months at about 3 hours per week, requiring about 10 to 15 similar drawings to identify the problem and ask the better questions. I have another book in me, waiting for an opportunity to write and publish, that would include anatomy and comparative anatomy for artists, as well as the geometry of head rotations.

Father's Day 2016-06-19

There are many times that I really appreciated my dad, Dennis, but this picture is a major one, as this hike to Limehouse to camp overnight on the Bruce Trail even overwhelmed my mom, Emily, as she thought it was too much for us to carry packs as big as us, but it taught me to not be afraid of the ugknown, and that all things come to pass. It set me up to face unfathomable challenges such as this hike and beyond. It spoiled Scouting for me, even though my dad loved Scouting so much he wrote a book about his time as a Scout and was a Scout leader in my day, because nothing we ever did in Scouts ever came even close to this overnight hike pictured here, with drinking from a natural spring even.
Thanks Dad !!!

March 17th, 2016 Ontario Court Ruling that an 81 year old man has the right to a medically assisted suicide.

The placemat drawing completed at the Wellington Square United Church, Friday Night Community Dinner,2016-03-18 72dpi adjusted -50b +50c
. . . a comment on the March 17th ruling of an Ontario Court Judge that an unidentified 81 year old man has the right to a medical assisted suicide.
( "enlighted" should read "enlightened" - I got over eager drawing this cartoon )

Ya' gotta laugh at all this nonsense as that is how to express the JOY of one's faith and let it capture the hearts and minds of those living in the despair of not having any hope, nor an awareness of Love.

One God . . . ever present, no I really mean it . . . THERE IS ONLY ONE GOD!!! It is reality, not just a belief !!!

What's on my mind?
This article fails to express a fundamental truth.

Well let me explain.

If there is One god, and One only, than everyone is praying and worshiping the same One god. To say that Others are worshiping a different or false god is to imply that in practice there is more than One god, and therefore deny one's own stated belief in there being only One infinite, transcendent, omnipotent, everpresent, and everywhere present, God.
Furthermore, if I am worshiping from the left side of the room, facing toward the right, addressing the front and centre of the room, then is my companion on the far side of the room mistaken by facing toward the left? To say that my companion is mistaken is a mistake many people make when saying that one person's different approach to the One God means they are worshiping not only in a different way, but another god.
Reality may be more bizarre than most people can imagine, but I am very tired of this argumentative stance that people use to try to dismiss others in order to promote themselves. Ash Wednesday is coming and I am all too aware of how those tiring people will be left as dust.
To say that others are worshipping falsely is to deny the infinite presence of the One true God. It is to say that God, all powerful and omnipotent, has led people astray or abandoned them. It is to say that God has created people who are fundamentally flawed. Did God then make a mistake when He created them, or did He make a mistake when He said He saw creation was good.
I find those who claim others are either flawed by design, God's design, or mistaken by God's absence, lack of transcendence, are themselves flawed and in opposition to God and his good creation, as Satan the Opposer has set himself up in opposition to God and Man. It is irrelevant to say that Others may deliberately deny God, as the goal of their denial is their expression of their god. Everyone has God as everyone has a goal. To say someone is godless is to say they have no goal, and is to say that God is not everywhere by saying this Other person does not have God or a goal. Even Satan, who may deny God, has to deal with the fact that God does exist, and this alone is Satan's eternal, or at least prevalent, torment.
Finally, we are all limited in order to exist, as any image of God is limited in its ability to portray the Unlimited, so to say that one is in error is redundant, as we are all in error. So what is there to do? Find the correctness in everything and begin to build on that, rather than state the obvious that there is incorrectness. Two and two may be four, but it is also twenty-two, and a double date, and a phrase, and two numbers, and two words, and on and on . . . .
Even Science acknowledges this Truth as no matter how many experiments support a hypothesis it only takes one experiment to proove the hypothesis false. This is how Science is set up.
Even Gravity is false by its own definition. If something was to show the effects of Gravity it would have to fall. So if it is able to fall, what put it up there in the first place? Was it Ytivarg? Even if all movement was caused by Gravity, then Gravity would be redundent and obvious, as it is. Why fear falling then? Anyone is always falling !

This article fails to express this fundamental truth.

Just last Sunday the second reading was 1 Corinthians 12 : 12-30 .

1 Corinthians 12:12-30New Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition (NRSVCE)
One Body with Many Members

12 For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. 13 For in the one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.

14 Indeed, the body does not consist of one member but of many. 15 If the foot would say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body. 16 And if the ear would say, “Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body. 17 If the whole body were an eye, where would the hearing be? If the whole body were hearing, where would the sense of smell be? 18 But as it is, God arranged the members in the body, each one of them, as he chose. 19 If all were a single member, where would the body be? 20 As it is, there are many members, yet one body. 21 The eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you,” nor again the head to the feet, “I have no need of you.” 22 On the contrary, the members of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, 23 and those members of the body that we think less honorable we clothe with greater honor, and our less respectable members are treated with greater respect; 24 whereas our more respectable members do not need this. But God has so arranged the body, giving the greater honor to the inferior member, 25 that there may be no dissension within the body, but the members may have the same care for one another. 26 If one member suffers, all suffer together with it; if one member is honored, all rejoice together with it.

27 Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it. 28 And God has appointed in the church first apostles, second prophets, third teachers; then deeds of power, then gifts of healing, forms of assistance, forms of leadership, various kinds of tongues. 29 Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? 30 Do all possess gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret?

Are not the so called Others just people who are unaware, by God's design, that they are members of the Body of Christ. If the Apostle Paul was to encounter them, they would become aware, so who are any of us to condemn them.

Is it too far a stretch to state the corollary that:
"Condemned are the condemning, for they will receive condemnation" ?

A corollary (/ˈkɒrəlɛri/ KORR-əl-ur-ee or UK /kɒˈrɒləri/ ko-ROL-ər-ee) is a statement that follows readily from a previous statement. In mathematics a corollary typically follows a theorem. The use of the term corollary, rather than proposition or theorem, is intrinsically subjective.

This guy is up for tonight !!!

This guy is up for tonight !

So is Santa Claus real ? The testimony of two or more unrelated adult citizens would be substantial in a court of reality.

---------------------------------
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint_Nicholas#Santa_Claus
Saint Nicholas was a real historical person, sainted, who secretly gave out gifts.
---------------------------------
New York City was originally a Dutch colony, that was called New Amsterdam by the industrious Dutch republic. It was traded to the English in exchange for modern day Indonesia, which was considered valuable for its spices.
"Situated on the strategic, fortifiable southern tip of the island of Manhattan, the fort was meant to defend the Dutch West India Company's fur trade operations in the North River (Hudson River). It became a provincial extension of the Dutch Republic as of 1624 and was designated the capital of the province in 1625." - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Amsterdam
So to say "Saint Nicholas" with a Dutch accent, makes it sound not only like "Sinterklaus" but also "Santa Claus", and the legend of the secret gift giver, leaving coins in shoes left out for him, continued, pre-dating the English colony.
--------------------------------
Stockings were normally not washed everyday, because that would mean doing too much washing to do by hand, so instead they were left out to dry in a warm place, and likely in front of the fire, if not at the foot of the bed. So to wake up to put on your socks again and find a gift in your stocking was like the reverse of a cowboy waking up to put on his boots and finding a scorpion or snake in his boot. Furthermore it was a humble fun way of giving a gift that was not pretensious or reciprocationally motivated. Furthermore, to say that Santa Claus must have left it is to divert appreciation away from the gift giver, again making it a real giving rather than being reciprocationally motivated - I like that word, that I may have made up: "reciprocationally". -https://www.google.ca/search?q=reciprocationally&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&gws_rd=cr&ei=XS18VuP1FIWketL6iPAM
--------------------------------
Reindeer are domesticated caribou that are maintained in the Nordic countries. This is something the Canadian government should consider for the territories. It is common for reindeer to both be used to haul sleds and carts, as well as be milked like cows, and slaughtered for their meet. For hauling in the snow they are very good and fast. They are so fast that they are said to "fly". What is flying really? Well essentially flying is to self reference your own inertia and only support yourself by exerting your influence so as to maintain the intended inertia. This means, when running, you would only touch the ground to redirect your inertia, rather than support your weight. This is true of flight, in that the influence the plane has on the air is used to direct the plane. In the jet age, this means that planes are supported by their engines, therefore self supporting, rather than on the air; and only using their influence on the air to redirect their inertia.
In 1989, at university, in the Science of Flight course I took, I compared two similar aircraft - one with props and the other with jets, and found from the flight characteristics that prop planes sit on the air, while jets sit on their engines, cutting the engines to drop onto their gear when they land, as opposed to propeller planes that glide in on the air for a softer landing.
So to fly is to self reference yourself. This is done when all external references are unreliable, such as when the context keeps changing, by the intercession of Mother Mary. Reindeers flying is religious because that is how a saint, Saint Nicholas, got around in his life, by flying, by self referencing so as to be able to give freely, rather than reciprocationally, and this is how God gives - freely without any required reciprocation on our part, as we are unable to reciprocate fully to our own creator, being created beings ourselfs.
----------------------------------
Saint Nicholas is real, still. His self referencing lives on in secular culture as a beacon of selfless giving, that is known by name. He drew his strength from God and gave all he received from God away to those around him, as we all do, or attempt to do, at secular Christmas gatherings.
Saint Nicholas is a saint because he did what Jesus did to the best of his ability, including self referencing, flying, as Jesus is alive today.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is my favourite Rudolph cartoon.
It is ambitiously laid out, and the animation attempts to live up to the layout, but in the end seems a little too two dimensional for me, as does my own animation. Max Fleischer worked on this Rudolph cartoon.
Max Fleischer did Gulliver's travels to attempt to compete with Disney's Snow White, by using actual rotoscoping ( tracing over live action footage ) for Gulliver, that was quite effective, but the rest of the animation was too two dimensional, although not unlike the seven dwarfs. -

“A ‘system’ is an entity that maintains its existence and functions as a whole through the interaction of its parts. The behavior of a system depends on the total structure." - Gertrude Foley SC

Gertrude Foley SC reminds us: “A ‘system’ is an entity that maintains its existence and functions as  a whole through the interaction of its parts. The behavior of a system depends on the total structure."

I came across this while researching the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul. I knew the church would 'get it' first, if not even before I 'got it'.

Yes, that is an endorsement of balancing whole and part, female and male, as proposed by the HESUS JOY CHRIST animation, and book Hesus Joy Christ : Discussion of the Animation .
